Competitive sports are physically demanding and are highly prone to injuries due to the repeated wear and tear. The primary goal of sports specific rehabilitation is to return our athletes (Professional/Amateur) back to their previous level of activity as quick and safe as possible. At Peak Performance, our physiotherapists create a treatment plan and exercise program keeping in mind the nature of injury and athletic demands for the specific sport necessary for a safe return to sporting activity.

Training programs are periodized and are available year round to help athletes in their development.

We also provide pre-season training for athletes who wish to start the season at their peak fitness.

Sports Massage and Recovery

Recovery is the time taken by the body to washout the metabolic wastes (eg: Lactic acid) which is produced due to breakdown of glycogen in the muscles and repair itself from the damage caused by the training. A good recovery will help your muscles and other connective tissues to repair faster allowing you to train harder and more effectively the next time you are out there.

We provide a wide range of recovery procedures in the form of Sports Massage, Ice bath, Myofascial Release therapy, etc.

Sports Massage therapy is geared towards athletes of every kind, from world class professionals to weekend joggers. Our therapists are trained in delivering high quality sports massage may it be pre-or post training and competition.

Pre- and Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Pre-Operative Rehabilitation

Pre-operative Rehabilitation (Prehab) is a great way to restore range of motion and strength prior to surgery and improve your post-surgical outcome. The goals of Prehab program at Peak Performance is:

  • Mentally prepare for surgery
  • Reduce Pain and Inflammation
  • Restore Range of motion
  • Improve muscular control of the injured joint
  • Normalising movement patterns
  • Gain a good understanding of the exercises during the immediate post-operative period.
Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Physical therapy is typically indicated following an orthopaedic surgery such as on hip, knee, shoulder elbow, spine etc. The body will not regain normal motion without specific retraining. Physical therapy can start anywhere from few hours to a few days after surgery. Our physiotherapists are specifically trained to restore the range of motion and strength without compensation and regain normal movement pattern.

Marathon Specific Training

At Peak Performance we understand the physical requirements of long distance runners, which allows us to make your training specific and effective.

We customise a fitness training plan after assessing your current fitness level. Special emphasis is given on the biomechanics and form of the exercises which helps you maximise the output and minimize any risk of injury.

Flexibility Training

Flexibility remains to be the most important though the most neglected component of fitness. There is scientific evidence that the incidence of injury decreases when people include flexibility training in their routines due to enhanced ability to move unimpeded through a wider range of motion. When used appropriately, flexibility training allows clients to become more in tune with their body. It is a form of active relaxation that can improve both mental and physical recovery.

We offer flexibility training packages, wherein we provide a holistic approach in the form of

  • Active and passive stretches
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Trigger point release
